Recent Reads

Recently I have read a few books.

Here they are along with a brief review.

Ordinary by Lindy Zart
This was amazing! I read it in two nights because I could not put it down. I can't wait to read the next one. The characters were well written and. the plot was good. I really liked how it was in different character views.
WHEN DOES THE NEXT ONE COME OUT? I NEED TO KNOW SO I CAN READ IT. I LOVED THIS BOOK. -My  review from Amazon.com

five stars

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia &  Margaret Stohl
This was amazing. I was not expecting it to be in a guy's point of view.  It was amazing and I liked the characters.
I have to say that it was better than the movie.
five stars

The Unseen (All four books) by Richie Tankersley Cusick

I just finished The Unseen in about a week to two weeks. I thought it was very good and a little confusing at the end. At first I could not tell if it was mystery or what. I had never heard of these books before and received them for Christmas. I am glad I read them. They were amazing. Sad that it ended though. I think that I will have to read other books by this author.
five stars

Clockwork Prince & City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
Both of these books where really good. They are both the second to last books in their series/trilogy. The Mortal Instruments series probably could have ended a couple books back. City of Lost Souls was a little slow at first and I had a hard time getting into it.
Clockwork Prince: five stars
City of Lost Souls: 4.5 stars

Crash by Nicole Williams
Amazing.  This book was amazing.  I love how the main character fell for the bad boy and never knew who to trust. Another good romance book. Nicole Williams put so much conflict in it which was amazing. Trust the good boy or the bad boy.
5 stars

The Arrival of Dawn by Bree Vanderland
This novella is a really good book. A different type of fantasy. I am not sure how to describe my thoughts for it.
5 stars

Parker Harris series by Amy McClung
Book 1: Cascades of Moonlight
Book 2: Dreams, Spells, and Moonlit Tales
All I have to say is this: MUCH BETTER THAN TWILIGHT. Best werewolf/vampire books EVER.

Crescent Bound

Crescent Bound (Crescent Bound, #1)

Crescent Bound by Karli Rush
Synopsis:
Alyssa Worthington is the daughter and sole heir to the most prestigious coven in the witch world. Her childhood has been spent in the mundane human world learning to blend in and hide who she truly is, and it is here, during her last year that she meets a striking ex-high school quarterback from a small town in Montana who will turn her world upside down.

Alyssa holds the element of fire, unlike her best friends Lisa and Megan, who are both air elementals. It is the elemental powers that reside inside which require positive thoughts and positive actions in order to maintain this magickal connection. What would happen to a witch that let this get out of control? How can evil become the driving force behind revenge and death?

Dark secrets, dark magick and a desperate desire for revenge will bring Alyssa to the brink of destruction. She is being chased, but this pursuit is a silent one and her chaser has but one goal, Alyssa’s complete and total destruction. Will she overcome this dark threat and begin to live out her destiny? Will she survive and if so, will she lose herself as part of the price for being alive? Or, will her destiny rest on being crescent bound?

With all these dark forces creeping around silently in Alyssa’s life, her coven pushes for answers, some of the answers about an eighth and missing coven, in the witch world, lie with her new interest. Marcus may be the key to unlocking the mystery of the silent darkness threatening the seven remaining covens.

My Review:  Wow. Amazing. These are a couple of words that came to mind when I was done reading this book.  It flowed really well and the characters were amazing.  This was one of those books that I could not put down. I don't read many books with witches in it, but each time I do, each one is different. Mostly. Crescent Bound is one of the books with witches in it that is different than any other. Romance. OMG. The romance between Alyssa and another character was amazing.  It seems like a good romance story can't do without conflict between the characters or other characters against the romance.
Overall, Crescent Bound was AMAZING.  I give it a full five stars.

Bitter Frost series

I just finished the last book in one of my favorite series. The Bitter Frost Series by Kailin Gow.  This series is really good. In the last book, I felt like that if I had the actual book instead of the kindle version, I would have thrown it across the room. The second most important character was being such a jerk I almost was to the point of tears, putting my head on my friend's shoulder.
This series is amazing. The characters are amazing. The plot is long but really good. I am going to read it again sometime. Thanks for an amazing series, Kailin Gow.
5 stars for an awesome series.

Dark Expectations is the exciting sequel to Soul Sisters that's full of adventure, danger and what it means to be queen!
My Review:  Dark Expectations was a good vampire story.  In my opinion, I believe that it was better than Souls Sisters.  Janiera Eldridge did a good job writing it.  This vampire story is different from all other vampire stories.  I don't think that that is a bad thing.  It is better to have a different type of vampire story than making it similar to other ones.  I give Dark Expectations 4.5 stars.  It was really good.

Happy New year everyone!  This year I have read probably almost 100 books. Some of my favorites have been the Significance series by Shelly Crane, the Fallen Star series by Jessica Sorensen, the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, and many, many, many more that I can't think of.
What have been some of your favorite books or series that you have read this year?
