The Wolf Moon Blog Tour

The Wolf Moon (Wolfmoon Trilogy Book 3) By Nikki Broadwell

It is close to the winter solstice when Maeve Lewin’s simple trip to Scotland to re-unite with her mother throws her headlong into a dangerous world.
A prophecy written centuries before seems to describe her as ‘the one’, and despite Maeve’s insistence that this couldn’t possibly be true, her mother and grandmother both agree.
What Maeve doesn’t know is that her boyfriend is part of her destiny, mentioned in the ancient text as ‘the one of noble birth who will stand by her side’. But Harold’s only plan is to join Maeve Scotland for the New Year before the two of them fly home to the States.
The night of the winter solstice brings Maeve face to face with a terrifying reality, but it's Harold’s arrival that forces her to come to terms with the truth. He seems to have lived in this parallel world before and his part in future events has been sealed as surely as hers.
With dark forces hunting her relentlessly and confronted with a fate  she didn’t choose, Maeve must come to terms with her future and somehow find the strength to fulfill the perilous task set before her.

away from the painful reminders sacrificing her relationship with her best friend Brad. She struggled to rebuild her life.

Bobby again.
Can she risk another heartbreak from Bobby? Will she be able to repair her friendship with Brad? Lisa will have to decide between the man she's with, and the two men that want her.
Who will she be with, and who will she tell to "Watch Me Walk Away?"

Excerpt:

Lisa & Bobby #1

I hear his car pull up and am out the door like a bullet. I wave to Arthur in the front seat and the back door opens and he is here. I freeze and just look at him. God he looks good enough to eat. He shuts the door and walks up to me and stops. I want to throw myself at him and shove my tongue in his mouth.

"Hi Beautiful,” he lifts his hand to caress my cheek. “God you look good. I missed you.” And that’s it. I grab his hair and pull him down for a kiss. We both groan when our mouths touch. His arms go around me and he picks me up and holds me close. Our mouths open at the same time and our tongues battle for dominance. All thought has left my mind I just want to get closer to him. I wrap my legs around him and use my thighs to push up so my mouth is above his. One of his arms goes under my ass to hold me up. Both my hands are now in his hair my elbows resting on his arms. He nips on my lower lip and I counter by sucking on his tongue. Finally I need to take a breath and pull away.
"Hi Handsome," I pant. I release the pressure of my thighs a little so I am more eye level with him.
"Wow, that was some welcome," he smiles at me.

Teaser# 1:
"The Letter"
Hi Baby,
I hope the rest of your day went well. I have not been able to concentrate on anything since I left you. I finally decided to get on the plane earlier than planned so I can hear your voice sooner.

I left a few things for your ankle. Please use them, I would have rather taken care of you myself but I have to make this trip. Arthur has been instructed to pick you up and take you to and from work for the rest of the week. I know you are going to balk at this but please let him do this. He would just be sitting around otherwise.

I stop reading and look in the box. An ace bandage, bottle of water, ice pack and Tylenol are all present as well as a small wrapped gift. I take the box out and my heart starts pounding. It is definitely a jewelry box and I know exactly what’s in it. I place it beside me and go back to reading.

To say I’ll miss you seems redundant. I’ve been missing you for years. People have called me heartless and they’re right. My heart resides with you and the only time I feel anything is when I’m in your presence. My greatest hope is that someday you will give me your heart again so I can finally feel complete.

You don’t have to open the gift now but I need you to have it. When you are sure about me, when you are ready to love and trust me again I ask that you wear it. It is a symbol of my commitment to you and seeing it on you will be the happiest day of my life. Once you see it I know you will understand. I found it two years ago and I just couldn’t let it sit in my drawer when I knew it belonged with you. I hope you don’t feel like I’m pushing you, I am just excited that you said we can try.

I will call you when I land. I can’t wait to hear your voice. I plan on keeping you on the phone for hours just so I can hear you talk. I want to be the last thing you think about before you close those gorgeous brown eyes. You are that to me, the first and last thing I think about every day, always.

I will speak with you soon. Open the box take care of you ankle and think of me.

I Miss You,
Bobby

Guest Post:

So I was asked to do a guest post on my writing techniques.  Hmmm, it varies from day to day.  I do plot out a little of the story.  In Watch Me Walk Away it all started with the New Year’s Eve Party.  A lot of things happened that night.  WMWA only cracked the surface of the goings on, there will be more in the second book. Lisa and Bobby’s story just wanted to be the first to be written so I plotted out using Lisa as the main character.  The three main character’s POV of that night will all eventually be written.
I knew the ending right away so I just had to get them there.  I plotted out the first 10 chapters and by the time I was done writing those the characters literally took over.  Chapters Twenty and Twenty One were supposed to be one chapter but once they got together Lisa and Bobby just couldn’t keep their hands to themselves long enough to move the story along. I had to put my foot down to get them out the door, LOL. Sometimes the characters are like errant children and they frustrate me.
I’ve been asked if I listen to music when I write and the answer is sometimes.  It helps the words flow faster but I find that the distraction causes me to have to go over and edit what I’ve written more. I use it to try and tap into the emotions.
Writer’s block.  Yes I’ve had it a few times, more so when a difficult scene is about to play out.  This happened a couple of times in WMWA: Lisa and Stuart in bed, before and during the fundraiser and the limo ride with Brad.  If the characters are uncomfortable it causes me to be as well and it is really hard to type when the tears are streaming down your face. The epilogue was like that. I knew exactly what I wanted to put down but had to keep taking a break to blow my nose and try to clear away the tears.
So I hope this answered most of your questions on how I write.  If not please feel free to contact me, I would love to hear how you liked the story and am always willing to talk to my readers and thank you for taking the time to read my work. And thank you so much to Kat’s Reads for hosting.

Author Bio:
Brenda Perlin is an independent adult contemporary fiction author. Brenda evokes emotional responses in her readers by using a provocatively unique writing style. Her latest book, Home Wrecker, captures the soul-wrenching conflicts of a personal struggle for emotional fulfillment.
Ever since Brenda was a child, she has been fascinated with writing. She draws her biggest inspiration from Judy Blume. This sparked a passion in Brenda to pursue personal expression through writing. Once she was old enough to go to coffee shops alone, Brenda recalls losing herself in the world of writing, all while documenting her ideas on paper napkins.

Brenda’s first book, Home Wrecker I (Home Wrecker Chronicles), was published with Master Koda Select Publishing. Within a short time, the book developed a strong fan base and is continuing to grow as it both entertains its readers and leaves them in a state of profound reflection. In the near future, Brenda would like to have Home Wrecker I expanded into a trilogy in order to tell the untold stories of her characters.

Guest Post:
“He was also very jealous and had trust issues; traits I did not possess. In fact, I trusted to a fault.”
I have always been very trusting. Maybe trusting to a fault. I always believed that if someone wanted to be with me, then I could rest assured he would be with me, solely. In the past, I have always been someone you could trust. Sometimes I trusted when I shouldn’t have. I believe if you don’t trust someone, the results will come out in negative ways. Even though I never gave my husband reason not to trust me he always had fears and doubts. He saw me as naive and thought every guy I came in contact with had an ulterior motive. I always had to reassure him of my loyalty. Now that I have been caught as a Home Wrecker my reputation as a cheater follows me around.
“I had just turned thirty. That was enough in itself to be depressed about. I never thought I would be this age and feel this worthless.”
At thirty I was newly married but I didn’t feel like a blissful newlywed. Life got very serious and my husband had new expectations of the role I should play in the marriage. He wanted me to be more goal oriented and work harder. Now that we were husband and wife he presumed I would change. All of a sudden he expected me to be a different person than I was. From day one I felt like I was letting him down. That is when I started feeling like I was walking on eggshells. I was not comfortable in my own home. I think all these things contributed to me becoming a Home Wrecker.

“I had lost all credibility because it seemed like so many things I had said I would never do, I somehow had done, or was considering doing.”
It is so strange to think of the things that I have done in the last year and a half. I was always the good girl and saw myself as such. No one would have ever called me a Home Wrecker without laughing. With me, it was always, what you see is what you get. I always did the right thing with unselfish intentions. I have learned that sometimes you have to go with your heart and put yourself first. I now look at people differently. Before I would have been quick to judge. Now I try to consider the whole picture. I don’t want to be closed minded and make rash judgments like I did in the past. I know what it feels like to be misjudged and it feels wrong.

EXCERPT: (from the all-new story "FANtasy")
After pressing the button for the 53rd floor, Zach quickly flashed a glance over at the mystery beauty and acknowledged her with a polite smile and a calm “You’re welcome”. Once he had done so, he tried to avert his eyes to avoid making her feel uncomfortable. Zach looked up at the ceiling of the elevator….mirrors. Then he glanced over at the back wall of the elevator….mirrors. But what he saw in them was the reflection of a beautiful stranger with a stare planted firmly on him. He finally dropped his head to pretend he was looking at the floor of the elevator, only there was a problem with that….more mirrors! Now if he stared too long at the floor of the elevator, he could be accused of trying to peep up the slinky black dress of his guest in the elevator. There was simply no way he could avoid looking at her.
Her petite voice pierced the awkward silence once more. “72nd floor?” she questioned.
Zach was hoping to be there soon, so he could avoid any more awkward conversation. He glanced up at the digital floor-counter above the elevator doors. 9th floor! This awkward conversation was just beginning. With that he turned his attention to the mystery beauty opposite him in the elevator.
“Yep, that’s me!” he said shyly as he met her eyes with his.
“Isn’t everything above the 70th floor a suite or a penthouse?” she curiously mused.
“I honestly have no idea miss. This is my first time ever staying here.”
Her curiosity began to grow more now. She started to eye Zach up and down to get a good look at him. Zach suddenly became uneasy because he knew how this always ended for him. Or at least he thought he did. As he expected her too, the mysterious woman ceased to relent with her questioning.
“Say….you must be someone important if you’re staying on the 72nd floor,” she pondered out loud.
“Or have a good night at the blackjack tables!” he quickly joked.
The momentary laughter their shared over that statement served to ease Zach’s tension for only a matter of minutes. Zach didn’t know what to say next and neither did the mystery beauty. He glanced up again at the floor-counter above the doors, thinking he had successfully dodged a bullet. 14thfloor! This elevator was quickly becoming a prison of sorts and Zach’s anxiety grew. He wondered the likelihood of them making it to the 53rd floor before the inevitable happened. Probably not he thought to himself. He glanced back over at his co-pilot on this magic carpet ride and found her still intently fixated on him with her stare.
“So Mr. Lucky-at-blackjack…..what’s your name?” she politely asked.
“Zach,” he responded.
“That’s funny,” she noted. “I drove up today for a book-signing at the book shop on the other side of the resort. The author’s name was Zachary Disdain,” she smirked.
“You don’t say?” Zach said with a twinge of sarcasm.
“Yeah, you know the romance author, Zachary Disdain?”
“No ma’am….can’t say as I know him.”
“I suppose not,” the mystery woman suggested. “Most men don’t read romance novels anyways.”
“You can say that again!” Zach quickly joked.
